Who Will I Be?
Who Will I Be is a game dedicated to my senior show. In it, I combine elements of art and game design. This game is intended for a more mature audience as it follows a chunk of my life. The purpose is to express vulnerability to the audience and a ground of mutual understanding. I want to a connection between the creator and the player. As the player, they see the parts of myself that I’m ashamed, proud, and scared of. They get to see how I process events; how I recover or if I even do. It’s not meant to be seen as a right or wrong answer kind of game but rather a human experience. Just one of many. The gameplay is formatted around multiple choice using Twine. The player will have the option to follow any storyline and potentially end up in a different one. The goal is to learn as much as they can about the creator so that they can come up with their own interpretation of them. The main character will have many internal monologues and dialogues with other characters. Forced to make decisions or sit with her own emotions and thoughts. The images are ones that I created for the game. I would have liked to push my drawings further by making more, correcting the background image scaling, and adding all the characters' sprites from the story. Music and environmental sound would also be ideal to help with immersion. This is also important for points in the game that I will purposely make silent, this way the significance of silence will show.
